Base preparation — the most critical step
Poor base preparation is the leading cause of premature paving failure. Our installation process includes excavating soil and other materials to the required depth, laying geotextile membrane to suppress weeds and filter water, compacting granular sub-base and sand bedding layers precisely, and surveying gradients for correct water run-off. Only after this is the paving laid.
Edging and drainage
Without proper edge restraints paving stones gradually spread and sink over time. We install concrete-haunched edging kerbs that keep the edges locked for years. We also plan drainage so that rainwater is directed away from building structures and does not undermine the sub-base.
Car parks and high-load areas
For car parks we select heavy-duty pavers designed to withstand repeated vehicle loading. We also offer permeable paving solutions for poor-draining ground, which reduce surface run-off and are environmentally friendly.
Warranty and aftercare
We provide at least a 2-year workmanship guarantee on all paving installations. Correctly installed stone paving lasts 20–50 years without major intervention. We also offer a spring inspection and joint sand top-up service to maximise the service life of your paving.
